Summative lesson observations are conducted with all instructors throughout the academic year. The instructors are divided among the CPD supervisors equally. The CPD unit supervisors inform the instructors that they will be available for pre-observation meetings if there is anything they would like to share with them before the lesson observations. Summative observations last between 20 and 40 minutes. Instructors are given the opportunity to select two (2) criteria upon which to receive specific feedback. This is an optional process. For instructors engaging in this process, they meet either online or face-to-face with their observer for a meeting to receive their feedback.
